Granite Potholes

One the most spectacular hiking areas in the Central Cascades is the Potholes Area. This hike is for the experience off trail hiker. The views are incredible once you get to Robin Lakes and on up to Granite Potholes. The trail from Tuck Lake to Robin Lakes is pretty rough in places and looks more like a bushwhackers trail more than a planned trail. Here are some specifics of the hike:

Getting There:

-Take exit 80 to Roslyn
-On the ramp turn left at the Stop sign
-Next road is Highway 903 North
-Next road turn right onto Fish Lake Road 4330
-Stop at the Deception Pass Trailhead and follow this trail for 4.7 miles to the Robin Lakes trailhead

Robin Lakes trail info:

Length:approx 16 miles roundtrip
Elevation at start:4200 ft
Elevation gain:2100 ft
Very strenuous hike

To get to the Granite Potholes you will need to hike to the top of the ridge above Robin Lakes. You will be able to tell which is the best route by surveying the mountain side. A topo map and compass is a must. Take your time and pick a good safe route to the top of the ridge. You will not be disappointed.
