Aero Lake

Getting Started: Heading East on Highway 212 from Cooke City, go just over 3 miles to the turn off for Goose Lake Jeep Road. Drive about 2 more miles up this road, the trailhead is on the right side of the road. You will see a sign for Lady of the lake. You have access to at least 7 other lakes from this trail, Rough, Lone Elk, Skytop, Zimmer, Leaky Raft and Upper Aero Lake. Aero Lake sits at the foot of Granite Peak the highest peak in Montana at 12799 ft. Also great views of Mt Wilse, Glacier Peak, Mt Villard, Granite and Tempest Mt can be had.
