We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.

Hiking at the bottom of the world

One of the most spectacular and remote areas in the world to hike is Patagonia. From the Towers of Paine to Glacier Grey this area of the world offers the hiker tremendous scenery and fairly easy hiking.

Santa Cruz Trek in Peru, is one of the best alpine hikes in the world. Set in the Cordillera Blanca (White Mountains) of Peru, this hike involves over 30 miles of hiking trails at elevations over 15,000 ft. You will want to give yourself atleast 4 days to hike this area and probably more to acclimatize.
To get to the trailhead you take a bus from Lima to Huaraz (8-10 hours)
