Directions:
Starting from the town of Bishop, drive on Highway 395, to the turn off to Highway 168 go west toward the Sierras. After about 12 miles you will see a 3-way fork in the road. The left fork takes you to South Lake. Go straight for another 7 miles to North Lake. Go toward North Lake Campground on a dirt road. The road turns into a trail, there are restroom facilities here. There is a fork in the trail shortly after the trailhead, take the right fork to Piute Pass.
